Muhammad Nasir Khurshid

A Practicing professional geotechnical engineer, since August, 2004, having working experience, ranging from

Dams, Hydropower to Foundation & Pavement Projects, with premier consultants of International repute as

employee, associates, Individual/Independent Sub-consultant. The scope of assignments involve Prefeasibility,

Feasibility Designs/Studies, Detailed Design and Analysis of small to mega projects. Similarly,

planning, conducting Geotechnical Investigations for Transmission Lines, Grid Stations, Thermal Power Plant,

Hydropower, Road, Building, Industrial and Area development projects followed by its Geotechnical Design

and construction supervision of foundations.

As individual Consultant, handled projects related to Geotechnical Design, Topographic Survey,

Transportation Engineering, Impact Assessments, Structural Design. Installed Fully Automatic Soil Laboratory

Testing Equipment (as official Trainer of Controls SRL Italy) and imparted trainings within Pakistan and

abroad. I have been using Geo Studio software for the stability analysis of slope under different loading

conditions, including hydrostatic and seismic loadings. Seepage analysis of hydraulic structures using Geo

Studio Seep W suite, under variable scenarios to design a safe structure, the provision of seepage control

measures was part of analysis. I have prepared Tender Documents for Geotechnical investigations along with

formulation and analysis of Geotechnical design criteria for mega hydropower project like Tarbela 4th

Extension Hydropower Project.

I had the opportunity to serve as Assistant Professor for a couple of years in the Civil Engineering

Department of a private sector University in Lahore. In addition, I have been a part time faculty member of

Civil Engineering Department in other private sector universities of Lahore during my engagement with

various consulting companies. My experience in the academics not only limited to Teaching but also as

Coordinator for Establishment of Civil Engineering Laboratories, management of various departmental

activities of university, initiation of University – Industry Collaboration.
